Tax Planning & Advisory
Most CPAs look back at last year. We plan for this year — and the years after it.
What this includes:
- Tax projections, updated as your income changes
- S-corporation and entity strategy, including reasonable salary
- Owner compensation and retirement contributions
- Real estate tax planning and depreciation
- Estimated tax payments that avoid penalties
- Year-end moves before December 31
- California strategy, including the PTE elective tax where it applies
Planning starts with a full review of your finances — entities, income sources, investments, real estate and goals. From there we identify the opportunities that apply to you and build a written plan to capture them.
We look at everything together: how your business is structured, how you pay yourself and where you invest. That whole-picture view is where the biggest savings usually hide.
Does this sound like your current CPA?
If you're a business owner or high earner, a CPA who only reports what happened is leaving money on the table.
Sound familiar?
- You only hear from them during tax season.
- Your return is filed — and then you find out you owe more than expected.
- “What can I do to pay less?” gets a generic answer.
- Nobody has run the numbers on an S-corporation for you.
- Your business grew, but your tax strategy didn't.
- Emails go unanswered for days, especially January through April.
Planning happens before deadlines, while there's still time to change the outcome.
Every recommendation comes with an estimate of what it saves you.
How it all fits together
One connected approach to your finances
Tax planning, tax preparation and accounting aren’t separate services here — they’re one system, run by one CPA.
When we keep your books, we see the details that drive your strategy. When we prepare your return, we’re carrying out the plan we built together. And when we advise you, we’re working from real numbers — not guesses.
- Fewer surprises
- More opportunities
- A CPA who actually knows your business
How it works
A simple process, with you in the loop at every step.
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers before you book.
What is the difference between tax planning and tax preparation?
Tax preparation reports what already happened. Tax planning shapes what happens next, while there is still time to lower your bill.
Is tax planning worth the cost?
For business owners and high earners, a single strategy — such as an S-corporation election or the right retirement plan — can save more than the planning fee. Your plan shows estimated savings so you can decide.
When should I start tax planning?
As early in the year as possible. Some strategies have deadlines, and most year-end moves must be completed by December 31.
Can I switch CPAs in the middle of the year?
Yes. Mid-year is a great time to switch, because there is still time to plan before year-end.
Do we need to meet in person?
No. Most clients work with us virtually, and in-person meetings are available in the San Gabriel Valley.
